SPRING 2013 TREND REPORT

STRIPES: It seems like walking the line is the big thing to do for the nest spring, with designers galore showing stripes. Thick or skinny, horizontal or vertical, it's a trend to watch.

CUTOUTS: With exposed patches of skin at the chest, waist, and everywhere else, it's clear that the cutout is having its sexy little moments come spring.

LACE: Used as both accent and the main attraction, lace was spotted all over spring 2013's runways.

LEATHER: As fashion-lovers turn toward fall trends, the spring 2013 collections have good news in store. Leather, big for autumn, won't be leaving the scene any time soon.

GRAY: Softer than stark white and less aggressive than midnight black, gray was a go-to shade on the spring runways.

EXPOSED MIDRIFFS: According to the spring runway forecast, a girl would do well to invest in some Pilates classes right about now. The exposed midriff is big for spring, as proved by a bevy of designers.

STRUCTURED SKIRTING: The runway showed a fierce loyalty to shape come spring. The peplum is sticking around, along with a range of molded, silhouette-making styles.

CHECKERBOARD: Simpler than plaid, the bi-colour geometric print is having its moment come warmer weather.

FLORALS: A perennial favourite, the floral print finds a romantic revival on the spring runways.

DEEP V-NECKS: Designers across the board are bringing sexy back. From Donna Karan to Dior, next spring is all about going low.

TAILORED SHORTS:  Gowns and minis are runway constants, but shorts were the unsung star of Spring 2013 runways.
